METALS

DEFINITION:

A metals are lustrous elements that are good conductors of heat and electricity. Metals come from the rocks and they can be in many different colour.

TYPES OF METALS:

Ferrous: Ferrous metals are those ones that contain iron.

Steel: Used for engineering purposes and in general,            none specialised metal products.

Cast Iron: Used to manufacture items such as                            engine blocks and manhole covers.

Wrought Iron: Used to make items such as                                    ornamental gates and fencing.                                Wrought iron is very soft and magnetic.

Non-Ferrous: Non-ferrous are those ones that don't contain iron.

Examples:

Lead: Used in roofing, in batteries and to make pipes.Lead is soft and ductile.

Silver: Used for decorative in jewellery and ornaments, and to solder                   different metals together. Silver is a good electrical conductor

Copper: Used for wiring, tubing and pipe work. Copper is a very good                     conductor of electricity.

Brass: Used for ornamental purposes and within electrical fittings. Brass              is a hard metal.

Aluminium: Used in aircraft manufacture, window frames and some                             kitchen ware. Aluminium is corrosion resistance.

ALLOYS:

An alloy is a mixture of metals or a mixture of a metal and another element

Non-ferrous alloys: Brass and Bronze

Ferrous alloys: Iron-Hydride

News materials:

*Microlattice: It is the lightest metal now a days.

*Super Hard Metals: The material is four times harder than pure titanium and has applications in making longer-lasting medical implant

3rd POST STRUCTURES

                                                                STRUCTURES

Hello I'm back again and today I will speak about the structures.

DEFINITION:

An structure is mode of building, construction, or organization.

*The uses of a sturcture is to support some natural structure or some weight.

-A natural structure is the opposed of man-made, natural structures are those that mantain on their own and take an specific form.

-A man-made structure is those that is made by a human.

EXAMPLES:

I like this structure because from the top you can see all the landscape of Pekin and I love this structure because it's made of glass.
